Urban Synagogue

A socially involved, urban congregation in the Annex neighborhood of Toronto came to us hoping to improve accessibility for their growing and aging worshippers. We proposed a small addition at the main entry to improve the split level entry condition while incorporating light, areas for casual greeting, and an expansion to their dining facilities which is where the group meets after services every Saturday afternoon to share a meal and socialize. This project presented multiple challenges from a Zoning, Heritage, and stormwater management perspective.

I was responsible for many aspects of the project including coordination with the client, leading the team during construction drawings, City of Toronto approvals, and consultant coordination through the tender period. This project is currently under construction, expected completion in spring 2022.
