Shelter on Lawrence Ave East

This shelter was built within an existing City of Toronto municipal building previously used for office space and storage. The building required extensive upgrading to base building systems. We provided a new elevator, new exterior insulation, upgrade of  the existing base building structural system, and new exterior cladding. In addition, the interior was reconfigured to accommodate social services and programs and for 100 residents. Our goal was to provide calm, comfortable spaces where residents could live and receive services with dignity.

I was responsible for design, staff management, client and consultant coordination, and construction administration.
